glock 19 arm brace

Glock 19 Arm Brace - The introduction of the SB Tactical Brace in 2013 turned the gun world upside down. The SB brace was originally designed to attach to the back of an AR-15 pistol so that those guns could be fired more easily with just one hand. According to the designer, the inspiration for the weed was to help veterans who own AR pistols shoot their guns more accurately and easily.

The pistol brace was soon adopted for many other firearms and is now available for a wide range of firearms and made by various manufacturers. One of the reasons for their popularity is that a gun brace can be used (and may I repeat, "can") to stabilize the gun when pressed against the shoulder. This means that a brace can (there's the word "can" again) has the same effect on your shooting as a stock.

This became a big deal thanks to the 1934 Act known as the National Firearms Act, or NFA for short. It is illegal to own a short-barreled rifle or shotgun without a $200 tax stamp and an extensive background check. The NFA defines a short barrel rifle as any firearm with a rifle barrel less than 16 inches long and less than 26 inches overall length. There's a lot of legal hair-splitting about how those definitions work in the real world, so consult an attorney if you have any questions. However, pistols are generally considered not to fall under the NFA rules because they do not have a stock. A pistol brace is a brace and not a stock, even if you put it up to your shoulder. find? Let's go on.

Placing a pistol brace against your shoulder allows you to keep your pistol much more stable than your hands. Adding a brace to a pistol like a Glock makes the pistol much more than just a short range defense gun. The brace makes it much more difficult to conceal your Glock, making off-body carry your best option for carrying these firearms. Because of this, adding a Glock brace makes your pistol more like a home defense gun against an immediate first response to lethal force.

What you lose in quick expansion with a Glock brace is made up in additional effective range. Quick, repeatable shots at 25 yards are easy to achieve with a brace on your pistol, and hitting 100 yards or more is even easier.

With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the Glock brace options currently available. The three Glock braces we will be looking at are the CAA MCK, the Flux Defense G19 Brace, and the Recover Tactical

MCK started in 2010 as Roni. It is an additional accessory that turns a Glock pistol into a short barreled rifle. When the SB brace arrived, CAA quickly connected him with Ronnie. This addition allowed users to keep their pistols as pistols in the eyes of the law, rather than converting them to short barreled rifles.

The MCK Glock Brace is different from the other two Glock braces we will be testing. It has a chassis that covers the entire pistol. This means that any optics or sights must be mounted on the frame, not the gun. The MCK model we tested is the largest brace of the three models in our test and takes up the most space when folded or unfolded. The stock folds and snaps to the right side of the gun for more compact storage. To use the brace, lift the folded part up and swing it back. The brace goes into place. The MCK also has a front grip that doubles as a good magazine holder for a spare magazine and a proprietary weapon light as standard equipment that costs more than other braces we've tested.

Since the optics for the MCK Glock brace are mounted on the chassis, not the gun, you have to see the gun every time you place the pistol in the brace. This means time and ammo range, and limits the MCK's ability to quickly convert your Glock from a concealed defensive gun to one for longer ranges.

On the plus side, the MCK chassis has a long section of Picatinny rail on top. This allows you to add common rifle accessories like optics and sights to your brace without relying on sights already attached to your gun. It also means you can place your optic at the correct height and distance to your eyes instead of having to turn your head around to use the sights on top of your pistol.

Flux Defense released their line of Glock brace models in 2019, starting with the Glock 17 and later expanding to other firearms. The model we are looking at is a version that fits Gen 4 or Gen 5 Glock 19 pistols, as well as Gen 4 or Gen 5 Glock 23 and 32. The brace attaches to the back of the pistol using pin hole Different grip modules on Gen 4 or Gen 5 Clocks. Fitting a brace to your gun only takes a few minutes and requires a punch or similar tool. Flux Defense includes a tool for this purpose with the brace, a slightly longer pin to hold the brace on your pistol.

One of the best things about this brace is how compact it is when not in use. The brace has two spring loaded arms that extend when a button on the left arm is touched. I had no problem activating the brace, but it might be a stretch for left-handed shooters. The brace collapses back and locks when not extended, and stiff activation springs mean that collapsing requires considerable effort.

As I mentioned earlier, off-body carry is probably your best option for this brace, however, unlike the MCK, there are holster options available for the Flux Defense Brace. A pre-mounted combination flashlight/magazine holder that uses an optional Olight tactical flashlight is also available. Oddly enough, that flashlight / magazine holder combo is also a very convenient place to put your supporting hand when you fire this gun, but I'm sure that's just a coincidence (sarcasm) .

The length of the flux protection brace is limited by the length of the pistol frame. Because of this, the distance between the end of the brace and the frame of the gun (aka "length of pull") was the shortest of the three Glock braces we tested. The narrow space between your face and the gun presents some challenges. Weed also uses an optic mounted on top of your pistol, which works well if you use a red dot optic on your gun. However, it is very difficult to get a good sight picture when using iron sights with this pistol. The small size has its advantages, but it also has some disadvantages.

The 20/20 Recover Tactical Stabilizer was introduced in early 2020. Recover Tactical uses the term “stabilizer” to describe their product, and so do we, except for the last part that wraps around your hand. We will continue to call that part the heat.

Mck Gen 2

At first glance, a stabilizer looks similar to a flux brace. A brace is attached to the gun like a flux brace, but it is attached to the gun in a different way. The Retrieval Tactical Stabilizer opens like a clamshell to attach to the front of the trigger guard and rear of the frame of any Glock pistol with a G17 or 19 size frame. The brace portion of the stabilizer also folds over to the right side of the gun and goes on quickly like the MCK, but is much thinner than the other brace.

The Recover Tactical Stabilizer Brace has a shorter Picatinny rail on the front, and we added two additional rail sections (purchased separately) to the sides of the brace. A forward-mounted spare magazine is also available, which attaches to the Picatinny rail on the underside of the stabilizer. Unlike other braces, there is no dedicated flashlight that works with the 20/20 stabilizer. Instead, you can mount the weapon light of your choice on three Picatinny rails, which opens up a world of light and accessory options for your Glock brace.

The Stabilizer Recover is smaller than the MCK brace, but it is larger than the Flux Defense brace. The clamshell design makes it very easy to attach
